About Scenic Auburn NH

With an estimated population of just over 5,000 in 2017, Auburn NH is a smaller community in Rockingham County, but it has a long history and big personality. The area was first settled in the 1600s by Native Americans as a fishing village named “Massabesic,” which is now the name of the lake in town. After settlement by the British and the French and Indian War, the town was considered part of Chester NH and became its own distinct town in 1845, when the population was just over 1,000. It was named Auburn after a popular poem called “The Deserted Village,” by Oliver Goldsmith, which calls Auburn “the loveliest village of the plain.” In the 1800s, the town had a small depot on the Boston & Maine Railroad, which remained as industrial freight lines until decommissioned in the 1980s.

Today, Auburn NH is a scenic, historic village surrounded by some of New England’s most beautiful natural areas. Massabesic Lake is a popular destination for outdoor fun like hiking, camping, and boating. The Massabesic Audubon Center at Battery Point on the lake is a historic spot to enjoy the views and learn about local wildlife. Tower Hill Pond and Clark Pond are also popular spots for fishing. The town offers some fun, unique events like the Duck Race, which races rubber ducks along Sucker Brook over a waterfall, and frequent sailboat races around Massabesic Lake put on by the Yacht Sail Boating Club.

Can I Pave Over an Existing Gravel Driveway or Parking Lot in Auburn NH?

One of the best ways for residential and commercial property owners to increase their curb appeal is by upgrading their driveways and parking lots. A new driveway, especially an asphalt driveway, not only looks beautiful and inviting, but it can greatly improve a property’s value.  The same can be said for a newly paved parking lot!

Whether you’re looking to sell, just bought a house, or just want to give your property a facelift, a new asphalt driveway is a great idea. But homeowners can also be worried about how to get the most for their money when it comes to paving services. Let the driveway paving experts at American Asphalt Paving LLC, Auburn NH’s most trusted paving company, answer your driveway and parking area questions.

Can I pave over an existing gravel driveway or parking lot?

The short answer is absolutely! All asphalt pavement starts with an underlayer made of gravel or other aggregates (even broken asphalt pavement), so it’s possible to add a thick layer of custom-mixed asphalt to gravel. However, the pros will have to grade and compact the gravel first to make sure it will properly support a new asphalt layer.

How can I upgrade my existing asphalt driveway or parking lot?

There are a ton of ways to improve asphalt pavement. Professional asphlat repair services like crack filling and pothole repair will ensure your driveway or parking lot is safe and durable, but services like sealcoating or overlays can also give your asphalt driveway a new, beautiful surface.

American Asphalt Paving LLC are the pavement experts for Auburn NH and surrounding areas, and we’ve worked with damage commercial parking lots, paved large sports areas, and installed all kinds of pavement all over New Hampshire. This means we can help you upgrade your residential driveway. Contact us today for more information on our driveway paving services.
